Through a Mirror Dimly
“For now we see in a mirror, but dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, But then I shall know just as I also am known.”
~ 1 Corinthians 12:12
Liana Tate is an attractive special event planner in Seattle. She grew up with her cosmetic-surgeon father, cover-model mother, and a sister who followed in their mother’s footsteps. No matter what she does, Liana feels she never measures up to the family’s reputation or her mother’s expectations. When a natural disaster gives her only six short months to pull one of the most anticipated yearly events in Seattle from the brink of failure, Liana is determined to prove herself.
Bryan Langley, a talented musician, was close to signing a recording contract when a barn fire left part of his face severely burned. He survived, but his career did not. Faced with a lengthy recovery and his appearance altered, the studio pulled its offer. Convinced his dreams were destroyed, Bryan struggles to start a new life. When Liana’s father hires Bryan as a handyman on the family estate, Liana’s and Bryan’s lives become entangled.
Liana longs for a handsome and successful husband. Bryan believes no woman could never love him. When Liana is dumped by the man she hopes to marry, Bryan is there to pick up the pieces. His strength, kindness, and listening ear do more than mend her broken heart. Could she love someone like Bryan? A man so far from her dreams and expectations? And despite his attraction to Liana, how can a disfigured handyman fit into her five-star life?
Through a Mirror Dimly is about two people whose lives have not gone according to plan. Though they may not have the answers as to why God says “no” to some dreams and desires, Liana and Bryan begin to see and trust that God not only knows the end of the story, he ultimately knows what’s best for them.
